Olhão is a town of many faces. Around the corner from the dock there is also a long and very pleasant paved promenade. The promenade also offers cool gardens to escape the heat of the sun. If you are driving to Olhão there is plenty of parking along this water front road but do remember to get your pay and display ticket from one of the machines.

There are two market buildings side by side along the water front. The markets are a must visit for the fresh fish and sea food straight from the port. You will also find a large array of locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables.

The markets are surrounded by cafes and a great place to sit and enjoy the view of the boats. You can also enjoy the beach ilhas of Armona and Culatra which is just a short distance off shore. The metro is the best way to travel from Lisbon airport to the city centre. It is also the best way to travel throughout Lisbon. Tickets for the metro can be purchased at a ticket machine.
